Stealing Beauty
By Kathryn Hunter

I'm stealing beauty again,
Because I have none of my own,
Just ugliness inside and out,
From my skin to my bones.

I'm stealing beauty again,
To show my face for a while,
And I can hide my replusive soul,
Behind someone's borrowed smile.

I'm stealing beauty again,
Though it leaves me sore,
But it vanishes too soon,
Leaving me ugly once more.
